There was no improper delegation of judicial authority, or voir dire outside the presence of the court, when, at the court's direction and with the consent of the parties, the court clerk made a preliminary inquiry of a group of prospective jurors. This was for the sole purpose of identifying panelists to be brought into the courtroom for inquiries by the court itself into their fitness to serve.
