Muriel D. Walton sued Arun-Angelo Patil, M.D., alleging that he breached the applicable standard of care during and after a surgical procedure Patil performed on Walton's lower back. Before trial, Walton notified the court that she intended to enter into evidence the deposition testimony of her expert witness, Leon J. Ravvin, M.D. This deposition was taken by Patil's counsel.
