In this case, we must decide whether a party "incurs" litigation costs within the meaning of Maryland Rule 1-341 when those costs are paid, not by that party, but by an insurance company on his or her behalf. We shall affirm the judgment of the Court of Special Appeals and hold that, regardless of who pays the attorney fees or of whether the fees are covered and paid pursuant to an insurance policy, attorney fees and litigation expenses...
