On January 19, 2008, the defendant got out of the automobile he was driving; attacked his former girl friend, striking her with his fists; followed her down the street; and kicked her in the back. The police apprehended him later that afternoon and retrieved a firearm from the trunk of the automobile. After a two-day hearing, the defendant's motion to suppress the firearm was denied.
