The defendant, Corie Stokes, was convicted of felony-murder in the first degree based on the predicate felony of attempted armed robbery, and related crimes. The charges concerned the 1999 shooting death of Cecil Smith inside the home of Smith's girl friend, Crystal Rego. This court affirmed his convictions. Commonwealth v.
