In October 2007, defendant, Gregory J. Chester, was indicted on three counts of aggravated battery (720 ILCS 5/12-4(a), (b)(6) (West 2006)) and one count of resisting a peace officer (720 ILCS 5/31-1(a-7) (West 2006)).
