The defendant, Karen Frank-McCarron, was convicted of first degree murder (720 ILCS 5/9-1(a)(1) (West 2006)), obstructing justice (720 ILCS 5/31-4(a) (West 2006)), and concealment of a homicidal death (720 ILCS 5/9-3.1(a) (West 2006)).
