We hold that where the State seeks to prosecute a defendant in a Hawai`i state court, and seeks to admit evidence obtained in another jurisdiction, the court must give due consideration to the Hawai`i Constitution and applicable case law, as indicated herein, when assessing whether such evidence is admissible against the defendant.
