Laura Hunter's late husband, Charles Hunter, died while a patient at Emory-Adventist, Inc. d/b/a Emory-Adventist Hospital (the "Hospital"). On June 13, 2008, Hunter filed this medical malpractice action against the Hospital and Dr. Michaele Brown (the "Emory defendants"), alleging that Dr. Brown was negligent in providing medical care to her husband.
