THOMPSON, Justice.

We granted a writ of certiorari to the Court of Appeals in Hitch v. Vasarhelyi, 291 Ga.App. 634, 662 S.E.2d 378 (2008), and posed this question: Whether the Court of Appeals erred in affirming the trial court's dismissal of the complaint for lack of standing. For the reasons that follow, we answer this question affirmatively.
