After Lizbeth Gomez-Ramos was arrested on child cruelty allegations, she was held in custody in Hall County. Bail was set, and United Surety, Inc. posted an appearance bond. Gomez-Ramos was released from the jail, but because she was not legally in this country, she was immediately taken into the custody of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (I.C.E.) until approximately September 2006, when the federal government deported her.
