Although Kenneth Hurston's wife survived him, his sister, purportedly acting on the wife's behalf, filed a wrongful death claim against certain healthcare professionals following Kenneth's death in 2001. After the statute of repose had run, the sister moved to add or substitute Kenneth's wife as the plaintiff for that claim.
