At a trial in 2013, the Department of Justice ("DOJ") and thirty-three states (the "States") showed that Apple conspired with five book publishing companies to raise the retail price of e-books in violation of Section 1 of the Sherman Antitrust Act, 15 U.S.C. § 1.
