RICHARD MILLS, District Judge:

The Petitioner, Michael D. Heilman, was charged by information in the Circuit Court of Mason County, Illinois with having a sexual relationship with two minors who babysat his children.

In late June 2006, the Petitioner was admonished that if he did not appear at his July 10, 2006 jury trial, he could be tried in absentia. The Petitioner did not appear at the jury trial and he was tried in absentia...
