This is an action for infringement of a patent for the synthesis of a chemical compound used by defendants in their manufacture of the antidepressant drug citalopram. The case was tried to a jury, which found that defendants had infringed the patent and awarded plaintiff fifteen million dollars in damages. The matter is before the Court on defendants' post-verdict motion for judgment as a matter of law...
