Rommel A. Amos, a prisoner in the custody of the state of Mississippi, appeals the district court's dismissal of his petition for a writ of habeas corpus under 28 U.S.C. § 2254. Amos contends that he was denied his right to a speedy trial and that his lawyer provided ineffective assistance of counsel by failing to move for a speedy trial.
