After a jury trial, David Hillman was convicted of several crimes arising from a scheme to steal hundreds of thousands of dollars from an insurance company for which he worked. His girlfriend, Hillary Shaffer, used her position in the company's annuities department to transfers funds from inactive annuities, where the company might have owed money but could not locate the annuitant, to Hillman. Hillman's defense at trial was that he was duped...
