COLLOTON, Circuit Judge.

Paul Welch, an Iowa prisoner, appeals the judgment of the district court2 dismissing his petition for a writ of habeas corpus. He argues that the district court erred in concluding that he procedurally defaulted several claims by failing to exhaust them in the Iowa state courts. We affirm.
