This is an appeal from an enforcement proceeding to confirm an arbitration award in favor of Prate Installations, Inc. (Prate) because of a contract breach by the Chicago Regional Council of Carpenters (Union). The district court confirmed the arbitrator's award in part and vacated it in part because it held that the arbitrator interpreted a subsequent collective bargaining agreement (CBA) that it had no authority to construe.
