The plaintiff, Jean-Marc Jacques, appeals from the judgment of the trial court awarding attorney's fees to his former wife, the defendant, Muriel Jacques. On appeal, the plaintiff claims that the court erred in awarding the defendant $51,641 in attorney's fees under the bad faith exception to the American rule1
