¶ 1 Anthony Yeung, M.D., sued Zoran Maric, M.D., for defamation and false light invasion of privacy. The trial court granted summary judgment to Dr. Maric, finding statements Dr. Maric made in an independent medical examination report—prepared in connection with a private, contractual arbitration proceeding—are protected by the absolute privilege afforded to participants in judicial proceedings.
