In February, 1984, a jury in Essex County Superior Court convicted the petitioner, Alfred Fusi ("Fusi"), of rape in violation of M.G.L. ch. 265, § 22B. While on trial, Fusi was represented by Attorney Richard Chambers ("Atty. Chambers").
