¶ 1 Chris Hastings, the buyer, and Alexander Grooters, the seller, entered into a written real estate contract. When the buyer failed to make payments, the seller filed a notice of intent to forfeit. No cure was made. However, the buyer filed an action seeking a public sale in lieu of forfeiture pursuant to RCW 61.30.120. The buyer attempted to effect service on the seller by leaving a copy of the summons and complaint with the receptionist at the office...
