Frederick Roscoe Coates was convicted, in the Circuit Court for Montgomery County, of Second Degree Rape, Second Degree Sexual Offense, and Child Abuse. The State called two principal witnesses to testify in its case in chief: the alleged victim, Jazmyne T., a minor, and Heidi Bresee, a nurse practitioner. Bresee interviewed and examined Jazmyne T. fourteen months after the alleged abuse had ended. Bresee testified that Jazmyne T. told her, during the interview...
