BACKGROUND

Defendant Suguru Sato fired Plaintiff S. Jay Matsumaru, an employee of Sato's company Total Lawn Care, on or about May 13, 2004. (Doc. 1). On or about June 26, 2004, Sato and Matsumaru met to resolve employment-related issues arising from Matsumaru's termination. Id....
