We granted leave to appeal to determine whether the insanity saving provision of MCL 600.5851(1) applies to medical malpractice claims. The trial court granted defendants' motion for summary disposition, concluding that the insanity saving provision of § 5851(1) does not apply to medical malpractice claims and, thus, that plaintiff's claim was time-barred.
