THOMPSON, Justice.

We granted a writ of certiorari to the Court of Appeals to review its decision concerning the propriety of the superior court's exercise of subject-matter jurisdiction in this action. See Abushmais v. Erby, 282 Ga.App. 86, 637 S.E.2d 725 (2006). For the reasons that follow, we affirm.
