I. INTRODUCTION

Michael Jeffries caused a traffic accident that fatally injured his passenger. A jury convicted him of second-degree murder under AS 11.41.110. The court of appeals affirmed. We consider here whether a reasonable jury could find that Jeffries displayed "extreme indifference to the value of human life," as required for a second-degree murder conviction under AS 11.41.110.
