These three consolidated actions all challenge the conduct of the Republic of Iraq ("Iraq") during the period prior to the first Gulf War in 1990. Plaintiffs in all three cases allege that, during the course of its invasion of the State of Kuwait, Iraq unlawfully took plaintiffs hostage and, in some cases, tortured them.
