Gregory Leppla was indicted and tried for kidnapping with bodily injury of Cara Hyatt, aggravated assault on Hyatt and Patty Holland, and hijacking a motor vehicle. At a jury trial, Leppla was convicted of kidnapping with bodily injury and of the two counts of aggravated assault. He was found not guilty of motor vehicle hijacking. He was given a sentence of life imprisonment for kidnapping with bodily injury and a concurrent ten-year sentence for aggravated...
