In February 1999, a jury convicted Lance Strahan of kidnapping, three counts of armed robbery, and two firearms offenses, and the trial court sentenced him to multiple consecutive life sentences. Strahan immediately filed a motion for new trial, followed in August 1999 by a motion for appointment of appellate counsel. The trial court denied the motion for new trial in March 2003, and granted Strahan's motion for an out-of-time appeal in December 2003...
