A jury found Appellant Devon Scott Jones guilty of the following offenses: malice murder of Marcus Hill and Angela Lawson; burglary of their apartment; armed robbery of Mr. Hill; and theft of an automobile which was in Mr. Hill's possession, but which belonged to James Harpp. Although the State sought the death penalty for the murders, the jury returned sentences of life imprisonment without parole.
