STATEMENT OF THE CASE

Following a jury trial in May 1995, Dorsey Mathews was convicted of Murder, six counts of Arson, as Class A felonies, and two counts of Arson, as Class B felonies. The trial court sentenced him to a total term of 145 years. In May 2004, Mathews filed a Motion to File a Belated Notice of Appeal under Indiana Post-Conviction Rule 2(1), which the trial court granted. He now appeals and presents the following...
