This is a civil suit for monetary relief in which plaintiff Antuan Pulliam alleges that defendant United Auto Workers violated its duty of fair representation under the National Labor Relations Act, 29 U.S.C. § 158. Plaintiff contends that defendant failed to prosecute a grievance on his behalf because of his race and in retaliation for his complaints about racial harassment at his place of employment.
