Petitioner, a law firm, seeks the unpaid portion of legal fees that accumulated during its representation of respondent in a divorce action. Respondent retained petitioner in August 2000 and discharged the firm in June 2002. During such time, petitioner sent bimonthly and sometimes monthly itemized bills to respondent.
