Believing, as we do, that the Supreme Court's decision less than three weeks ago in Blakely v. Washington, ___ U.S. ___, 124 S.Ct. 2531, ___ U.S. ___ (2004), fundamentally changes the federal sentencing landscape, we write at some length to explain how we arrived at the sentence of 188 months that we imposed on this defendant this day.
