I. INTRODUCTION

This is a patent infringement case. Jurisdiction is proper under 28 U.S.C. §§ 1331 and 1338. On June 8, 2001, plaintiffs Rhodia Chimie and Rhodia Inc. (collectively, "Rhodia") filed a complaint alleging that defendant PPG Industries, Inc. ("PPG") was infringing U.S. Patent No. 6,013,234 (the "'234 patent"). (Docket Item ["D.I."] 1.)
