The defendants, Juan Burks, Romell Ratliff, and Larry Fletcher, were arrested and charged with attempted armed robbery. 720 ILCS 5/8-4(a), 18-2(a) (West 2002). Their cases were consolidated for the purpose of a motion to quash the arrests and suppress the evidence.
