In September 1999, Plaintiff L.J. Stafford executed a durable power-of-attorney, naming his two sisters his lawful attorneys-in-fact. In April 2000, the sisters used the power-of-attorney to commit Mr. Stafford to a lock-down Alzheimer's unit and to create an irrevocable trust for Mr. Stafford.
