The defendant, Jeremiah Perez, appeals from the judgment of conviction of assault in the first degree in violation of General Statutes § 53a-59 (a)(5), rendered after the trial court accepted his plea of nolo contendere. On appeal, the defendant claims that the court improperly (1) accepted his plea and (2) concluded that it did not have jurisdiction to grant his post-sentencing motion to withdraw his plea.
