Angela Smith, an African-American woman, filed this action against her former employer, Aaron's Rents, Inc. ("ARI"), alleging that defendant failed to promote and constructively discharged her on the basis of her race in violation of Title VII, 42 U.S.C. § 2000e et seq., and 42 U.S.C. § 1981.
