The defendant, Robert Dyer, has appealed a judgment of conviction on one count of burglary and two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon. The defendant argued on appeal that the trial justice erroneously admitted irrelevant and inflammatory evidence and erroneously denied his motion for new trial or, alternatively, his motion for a judgment of acquittal.
