STREIT, Justice.

Kevin Lynch, a police officer for the City of Cedar Rapids, was seriously injured after the police helicopter he was piloting failed in mid-air and crashed. Lynch sued three municipal co-employees for negligence and gross negligence. After a trial, the jury found the three co-defendants liable for simple negligence, but not liable for gross negligence. Finding the co-employees are immune from suit, the trial court entered a judgment notwithstanding...
