The Canada Life Assurance Company (hereafter "CLA"), a Canadian reinsurer, claims that Converium Rückversicherung (hereafter "CR"), a German reinsurer, has refused to pay its share of losses, many of which resulted from the terrorist acts of September 11, 2001, under reinsurance contracts with CLA.
