Virgilio and Santo Ruiz were convicted in 1994 on four charges stemming from a fire that burned down their business in Boston, Massachusetts, in 1990. The brothers now challenge their convictions on the basis of new evidence that Virgilio uncovered in 2000 that had been in the possession of the Boston Police Department.
