PER CURIAM.

Appealing after a nonjury criminal trial from Superior Court convictions for felony assault with a dangerous weapon and malicious destruction of property, the defendant, James J. Brooks, challenges the trial justice's denial of his motion for a new trial. A single justice of this Court ordered the parties to show cause why the Court should not decide this appeal summarily.
