STEWART, Judge.

A jury convicted Todd Eric Porterfield of first-degree murder and first-degree arson1 for starting a fire that killed Walter Roll. At the trial, the superior court admitted recordings of statements by Porterfield's wife, Michele S. Porterfield, to a third party and the third party's testimony describing Mrs. Porterfield's unrecorded statement about the fire
