Jason Sparks was convicted by a jury of malice murder, two alternative counts of felony murder, aggravated assault, attempted burglary, and possession of a firearm during an attempt to commit a felony. The trial court concluded that the felony murder verdicts were vacated by operation of law, and sentenced Sparks to life imprisonment for malice murder. Malcolm v. State,
