The principal issue presented in this appeal is whether certain statements made by the circuit court amounted to an acquittal, for double jeopardy purposes, under the reasoning set forth in People v. Williams, 188 Ill.2d 293, 242 Ill.Dec. 245, 721 N.E.2d 524 (1999).
