Bernard Hradecky and Laura Hradecky, husband and wife, were injured on February 25, 1998, when a snowplow operated by an employee of the State of Nebraska struck a motor vehicle operated by Bernard in which Laura was a passenger. The Hradeckys filed separate personal injury actions against the State in the district court for Kimball County.
